Hairpin vessel, large pitfired in white clay_1

This vessel was hand build using coiled clay and then put through an atmospheric smoke firing to obtain it's surface design and patina.  The exterior is raw stoneware clay.  The interior is also raw stoneware, which is not glazed due to the low temperature firing.  Therefore the vessel should be used as a stand alone sculpture only.  It's approximately 11 inches tall and 11 inches wide at it's widest.  (please note the sculptural clay is too porous to hold water).
